APRIL 4th 2009 Race 6 Grade A5 Time 28.88
The valleys will be ringing tomorrow as the Welsh male voice choirs celebrate the win of Wedi Mynd, backed at 9/4. After a slow start which is becoming the norm he found himself last at the bend but made steady progress down the back until turning up the booster to lead on the run in. In a messy race Rei Doms Beckham, 3s to 2s, was crowded at traps and then again at the bend before keeping on for third place.
APRIL 22nd Race 7 Grade A4 Time 28.45
Late office money saw Wedi Mynd cut from 5/2 to 2s. He ran his usual sort of race with a moderate start, trouble at the first and a sharp burst of acceleration down the back. Today, though, the gaps opened at the third and he glided through to take up the running between bends three and four for another win.
MAY 9th 2009 Race 13 Grade A3 Time 28.16
Wedi Mynd, 3s to 11/4, won impressively. He made his usual slow start and was in fifth place at the second bend. He showed good pace to the third and led at the last winning very comfortably. Banfid Sammi, 7/2 to 11/4, ran below the level promised in her trials. She seemed to check at traps and was crowded on the run up and at the third when not a factor. She finished last.
MAY 23rd 2009 Race 7 Grade A2 Time 28.43
A major contrast of fortunes in the first half and then the second half of this race for the well backed Wedi Mynd, 5/2 to 7/4. In the first half he met all sorts of problems checking at the first bend and being crowded at the second which left him back in fourth place at halfway wiith a lot to do. Once he found his stride approaching the third bend he enjoyed a solo round bends three and four and all the way down the home straight which allowed him to get up near the line for a victory which seemed out of the question at halfway.
